The actor’s lawyer has sought for bail and the application will be heard this morning in Jodhpur sessions court. The prosecution mentioned the crew of 1998’s feature film Hum Saath Saath Hain went hunting around a forest reserve near Kankani Village on the ill-fated night of Oct 1-2, killing the endangered species.

Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre, Tabu, Neelam were acquitted in the case and the prime suspect of the trail, Salman Khan was convicted alone. Chief Judicial Magistrate Dev Kumar Khatri found the actor guilty of poaching and even called him a ‘habitual offender’. The actor has been booked for violating section 9/51 of the Wildlife Protection Act. The magistrate in his written judgment mentioned:

“The accused is a popular actor whose deeds are followed by people. Despite this, the accused hunted two blackbucks.”

Salman Khan’s lawyer has challenged the verdict and has made an appeal in the Rajasthan High Court. The actor might be granted bail, considering his family and professional commitments, and the fact that he was already on bail during the trial, without any accusations against him.
