Since the announcement of his period drama, Padmavati, director Sanjay Leela Bhansali has been surrounded by controversies and protests and all sorts of negative PR. This upcoming Hindi movie has completed it’s production stage and is all set to release worldwide on December 01, 2017. Bringing a halt to all these controversies, Bhansali has finally decided to screen the movie to the Rajput community. A team that will witness the screening will include members of the community, historians, and literati constituted by Rajyavadhan Rathore.
Rajyawardhan has said in a recent interview, “Once we see the film, we can convince others that the film does not distort history in any way. On the other hand, if we see a misinterpretation, we can express our reservations.” Also in another controversy, the Rajput community also wants to ensure that Sanjay Bhansali and the team of Padmavati also include the tale of the brave Goora and Badal, the soldiers who sacrificed their lives for Maharawal Ratan Singh (played by Shahid Kapoor in the movie).
Being the most awaited movie of 2017, Padmavati has been a centre of attraction for quite long now. This anger originates from various speculations that the film is based on a distorted version of historical events written by the court poet of Alauddin Khilji (played by Ranveer Singh). Allegedly these protesters claim that the movie shows Khilji sharing an intimate sequence with Padmavati (Deepika Padukone). The movie will be releasing on the decided date now and is expected to be one of the biggest hits of the year.
