Apart from Shah Rukh Khan, actress Cate Blanchett and Sir Elton John were also awarded the Crystal Award.
Cate Blanchett received the award for her leadership in raising awareness about the refugee crisis and Sir Elton John received the award for his leadership in the fight against HIV/AIDS. Receiving the award, Khan praised Blanchett and pulled out a witty moment from thin air when he asked Blanchett publicly for the selfie. He sent the audience into a fit of laughter when he quipped that it may leave his children embarrassed.
He extended his gratitude to WEF for the award and ended his speech with a namaskar and the slogan ‘Jai Hind’.
Upon reaching Davos, Khan recreated the Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge moment amongst the Swiss Alps and posted a picture with the caption, “Switzerland main aake yeh na kiya toh kya kiya…?”
