Scheduled to release on August 18th,the release of Shraddha Kapoor‘s Haseena – The Queen of Mumbai, based on the life of Dawood Ibrahim’s late sister, has been pushed back yet again. For those who don’t know, this is the fourth time the makers have postponed the release date. The reason behind pushing the release date is to avoid collision with two other big movies releasing at the same time. Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma starrer Jab Harry Met Sejal and Akshay Kumar’s Toilet: Ek Prem Katha are slated to release on 4th and 11th of August respectively. Apoorva Lakhia doesn’t want to release his film in between these two big films. So, rather than facing competition at the box office, Lakhia is happy pushing back the release of his film. The new release date has not yet been fixed, but most probably the film will see the day of light in the next month only.

Apparently, Haseena was initially scheduled to release on July 7th along with Sri Devi’s MOM. At the last moment, the makers, producers and distributors decided to not clash with Sri Devi’s comeback film at the box office. The film was postponed to release the following Friday on July 14th. But Ranbir Kapoor’s Jagga Jasoos was also releasing the same Friday. So, the makers again decided against releasing their film and let Anurag Basu’s film enjoy a solo release. Haseena was postponed to August 18th. Now, August is also cluttered with some big releases and Lakhia doesn’t want to compromise on the number of screens allotted to his film. He wants a solo release for Haseena: The Queen of Mumbai. To make situation even more competitive, Ayushmann Khurana and Kriti Sanon starrer Bareilly Ki Barfi will also hit the theatres on August 18th.

Haseena – The Queen of Mumbai will see Shraddha Kapoor in a never-before-seen avatar. She has slipped into the shoes of Dawood Ibrahim’s sister, Haseena Parkar for this film and has impressed the audiences with her transformation as the dreaded don. Ever since the trailer was released, fans have been waiting with bated breath to watch the movie on the big screen. Seems like the wait is not yet over. The movie release has been pushed back!
