Rohit Shetty has begun the shoot of his upcoming film – Simmba. The movie will be filmed in a start-to-finish schedule and should be wrapped up within the next three months. The film which stars Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan in the lead roles, is set to release on December 28, 2018. This is just a week after Shah Rukh Khan’s most ambitious film till date – Zero. Since Simmba is co-produced by Karan Johar who is King Khan’s best friend, the release date may be changed.
In this Hindi remake of the Telugu blockbuster – Temper, Ranveer Singh plays the role of a cop. The original film starred N. T. Rama Rao Jr. and did wonders for his career. Simmba is a bit similar to Shetty’s Singham and in the future, he plans to combine both to make a buddy cop entertainer. Ajay Devgn, who stars in the Singham series, is expected to make a cameo in Simmba.
The first schedule is currently being shot in Hyderabad and the lead actress – Sara Ali Khan is accompanied by her mother – Amrita Singh. The two were spotted shopping for jewelry at a local market in the city. Sara Ali Khan has also been in the news for the fiasco regarding her debut film. Abhishek Kapoor’s Kedarnath was supposed to be her launchpad but once the film ran into trouble, she immediately started work on Simmba. The makers of both the upcoming Hindi movies are fighting for her dates and Kedarnath will most likely release just a month before Simmba.
