The Zoya Factor

Sonam Kapoor’s career graph progressed after films like Ranjhaana, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, Neerja and the recently loved blockbuster hit Pad Man. A recipient of the National Award for her film Neerja, Sonam was impeccable as a compassionate, brave, headstrong steward on duty.

The actor recently revealed the first look of her upcoming 2019 film, ‘The Zoya Factor’ alongside Dulquer Salman, a film based on a book authored by Anuja Chauhan. Bagging the titular role, Sonam will soon meet with the author Anuja to understand the traits and quirks of her character.

The film features protagonist Zoya Singh Solanki, a bright employee at a leading advertising agency, who, through her clientele she gets the honor to meet with the Indian Cricket Team. Her interaction with the cricketers while on duty, leads to an unusual bond, where she is considered as the lucky charm for the squad at the competitive World Cup tournament.

Sonam has already read the book to pick up the character’s nuances. She adds:

“Anuja Chauhan has lived with the character and the book for so long and knows it better. I look forward to meeting her soon to discuss Zoya before we start shooting for the film.”

The rom-com fuses in elements of superstition and luck. We wonder if the lead man Dulquer will be seen as a charming cricketer, wooing Zoya in the film.

The writer Anuja has done significant work with brand Pepsi and JWT Delhi, a VP associated with cricket advertising and based her novel on the same theme. Anuja is Zoya, in a nutshell.
