Since the day Tiger Shroff has been announced as the male lead for SOTY 2, multiple speculations about the female lead have been doing the rounds. Putting all such rumours to rest, Karan Johar took to Social Media to reveal the extended cast of Student of the year 2.
Dharma and Karan Johar presented both newcomers in introductory posts on social media. Tara Sutaria started off her career as a VJ on Disney India and starred in two shows of the channel; Oye Jassie and The suite life of Karan & Kabir. Referring to her as the new admission in class, Tara’s character in the movie is described as the girl who is in the competition to win the coveted title and take the trophy home.

Dharma Productions posted the second introductory post along with Ananya’s first look. Ananya is Chunky and Bhavna Panday’s elder daughter and SOTY 2 marks her debut in Bollywood. Ananya Panday can be seen in an extremely sporty avatar on her introductory poster.

Tiger Shroff was also re-introduced as the leader of the student brat pack. Tiger Shroff, Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria were introduced as the class of 2018 in one of the first look posters. This class with the newest students reopens in November.

Student of the year 2 began filming in Dehradun on April 10 2018. Dharma Productions made an official announcement saying, “Today, director Punit Malhotra and his team begin their journey at Saint Teresa’s with Tiger Shroff and the girls.”
