After his much-acclaimed biopic, M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, Sushant Singh Rajput is ready with his next film, Romeo Akbar Walter and the actor took to Twitter to share the first look of the film. He captioned the snap, “2018 will be RAW. Apparently, the film is based on true events and it’s not a coincidence that the film’s acronym read RAW — Research and Analysis Wing, India’s elite intelligence agency. The movie, to be directed by Robby Grewal, will release in 2018. While we still don’t know about the story of the film, it is reportedly set in 1971 and based on true events. The first poster looks edgy and its tagline, “Our hero, their spy”, hints at Sushant Singh Rajput playing a RAW agent in the film.
Sushant Singh Rajput has his kitty full with some exciting movies this year. Last seen in the highly successful biopic about M.S. Dhoni, he will be seen in Dinesh Vijan’s Raabta opposite Kriti Sanon and Dharma Entertainment’s Drive with Jacqueline Fernandez. He is also filming for National Award winning filmmaker Sanjay Puran Singh’s Chanda Mama Door Ke, where he is playing an astronaut. Sushant Singh Rajput essayed the role of the Sherlock Holmes-esque Bengali detective in the film Detective Byomkesh Bakshy. He played the role of a cricketer in M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story and will be playing an astronaut in one of his films. It seems the actor has made variety his strong point.
Director Robby Grewal has helmed films like Aloo Chaat, MP3 – Mera Pehla Pehla Pyaar and Samay – When the Time Strikes. Produced by Dheeraj Wadhawan, Ajay Kapoor, and Bunty Walia, the film is in its post-production stage and is slated to release early next year. The rest of the cast is still under wraps and we only know that Sushant Singh Rajput is the hero of the film, which is inspired by true events.
Interestingly, the first poster of Romeo Akbar Walter has an uncanny resemblance with Emraan Hashmi’s upcoming Bollywood film, Captain Nawab, where Emraan’s character in the poster is seen in half Indian, half Pakistan’s army uniform with a caption, Two Countries, One Shoulder. This film is also in its post-production stage and will be ready to release early next year. Let’s hope both the films won’t clash at the box office.
