There is an interesting fact about the movie and how it shaped it’s stars lives. The two leading pairs Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bhaduri; Dharmendra and Hema Malini were romantically involved. Amitabh and Jaya had married four months before the filming of Sholay started while Dharmendra wooed Hema Malini on the sets of this film and the two got married five years after the release of Sholay.

If we go by the numbers at the box office collection and the audiences who saw the movie, Sholay remains to be one of the highest grossing films in the history of Indian cinema, even after adjusting the inflation. Well if you haven’t heard of the movie or seen it, this is the time to watch it as it promises to give you goosebumps with the iconic dialogues like – “Arre oo Samba, kitne aadmi the re?” and “Beta So ja wrna Gabbar aa jayega!”
