The year of 2016 hasn’t been a kind one, especially for megastar Hrithik Roshan. His personal life went through quite an upheaval when the news of his split from Sussanne Roshan hit the headlines. Their divorce was finalized two years ago and it looked like things were finally settling down for the star. But that wasn’t to be the case. Hrithik began 2016 gripped by controversy and feuding with Bollywood’s queen Kangana Ranaut over leaked emails. Their fight escalated, making the situation tense and ugly. As if a turmoil in his personal life wasn’t enough, trouble followed him to his professional life as well. His epic release Mohenjo Daro was a box office debacle, leading critics to tout it as the biggest flop of the year.
But Hrithik is looking to change his luck with the upcoming Hindi movie Kaabil. Directed by Sanjay Gupta, the movie is produced by Rakesh Roshan and stars Yami Gautam in the lead. In the past, Hrithik’s collaboration with papa Rakesh has spelt success. The way things currently stand, Hrithik needs a win in his kitty and this one might be it.
But it’ll be far from an easy journey, seeing as Kaabil too has undergone its fair share of controversies. The Kaabil movie preview was leaked just a day before it was slated to premiere on YouTube, causing quite the uproar. Furthermore, the movie is set to compete with Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees at the box-office next year creating quite the ruckus.
But despite these trials and tribulations, the trailer has received a positive response. The movie follows the story of a young visually challenged couple as they fall in love and decide to build a life together. But somewhere along the way tragedy strikes, forcing the husband to take matters of justice into his own hands. Alongside Hrithik and Yami Gautam, the movie will also star Ronit and Rohit Roy as the villainous duo.
The makers have released a second movie preview of Kaabil giving a more detailed insight into the hero’s angst. This preview got superstar Rajinikanth to applaud Hrithik’s intense performance. But Time will be the ultimate judge to decide the fate of this movie as well as that of Hrithik’s career.
