The first look of Vada Chennai was finally revealed in the wee hours of March 8, 2018. Dhanush’s much-anticipated project has been in the works since three years and the excitement has only doubled with time.

Earlier, the actor Tweetted the release date and time of the first look. Not to mention, fans were flushed with excitement.

The first look has a handcuffed Dhanush making an appearance out of a Police van. Evidently, his body language suggests that he is used to getting into trouble all the time. He is rather elated and happy. Surrounded by his own men, Dhanush seems to be their leader of sorts. Looking lively, Dhanush undoubtedly owns the first look of the film.

The film stars Andreah Jeremiah, Aishwarya Rajesh, Ameer, Daniel Balaji, Samuthirakani, Kishore, Karunas, Subramaniam Siva, and Cheenu Mohan in important roles. Reportedly, Dhanush portrays the role of a national-level carom player. The film sheds light on the lives of a community dwelling in the same village for 35 years and is set to release in parts. It will be exciting to see the actors take on different looks in order to match the time period.

There have been multiple speculations deeming it to be a gangster film. Director Vetrimaaran put a rest to the rumours and said:

“Contrary to all the reports, Vada Chennai is not a gangster drama. It’s a film about a society. The story chronicles the lives of people inhabiting a village for over 35 years. Since we have so much to narrate, we thought it could be made in two or three parts. We will take the final call about the next part after seeing the response for the first film.”
