The Harry Potter movies are the third-highest grossing film series in the world, and that’s without including the ongoing Fantastic Beast movies, which is a prequel set a few years from where Harry Potter began. This million-dollar franchise only happened thanks to J.K. Rowling, who published the first Harry Potter book after several rejections by other publishing houses in 1997. The film came out in 2001 and a whole generation of children grew up with Harry through the seven books and eight movies.

J.K. Rowling remains a celebrity icon till date as the popularity of the wizarding world continues ceaselessly. While the last Harry Potter book was published in 2007 and the last film came out in 2011 before being continued with Fantastic Beasts which came out in 2016, J.K. Rowling’s work is not limited to these books and movies. Her play which takes place in the same universe – Harry Potter and the Cursed Child premiered 2 years ago and is still going strong. It completed the two-year anniversary yesterday, just a day before Rowling’s birthday.

While Rowling has said that she won’t be writing any more stories about the Boy Who Lived, there are plenty of tales to be told about Newt Scamander. A new Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald trailer was released at San Diego Comic Con, and the fans’ enthusiasm about the franchise hasn’t waned. The Fantastic Beasts sequel is scheduled to release on 16th November, 2018, with a third film to be released in 2020.
