Steven Soderbergh’s Ocean’s franchise has earned cult status. The heist movie had a fantastic ensemble cast and helped the careers of its lead actors. While Ocean’s Eleven released in 2001, Ocean’s Twelve came out in 2004. The final part which was titled Ocean’s Thirteen hit theatres in 2007. Now after a decade, the film series is being reviewed with an all-female cast. Ocean’s 8 it what the latest film is called and it stars Sandra Bullock, Rihanna, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Sarah Paulson, Awkwafina, Mindy Kaling, Dakota Fanning, Richard Armitage, and James Corden.

After Ocean’s Thirteen released, Soderbergh stated that there would be no Ocean’s Fourteen as George Clooney felt that the third part was a fitting end to the series. The spin-off, however, was announced in 2015 and while Steven has produced it, the film is helmed by Gary Ross. Besides the upcoming Ocean’s film, Ross is known for his work on The Hunger Games and Free State of Jones.

The production of Ocean's 8 began in October 2016 and the shooting was wrapped up by March 2017. The cast got along well on the sets with Rihanna getting the maximum attention from the paparazzi. In the film, Sandra Bullock plays the role of George Clooney’s sister and she forms a team of women to pull off an unbelievable theft. There was a lot of criticism abouthaving women as the lead characters but many studios are supporting such a change. Even the spin-off of Ghostbusters starred female comedians.
