Get ready to witness two of Hollywood’s biggest stars for the very first time in a movie directed by one of the most sought after director. Quentin Tarantino’s next, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, has Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt teaming up together. Yes, you heard that right.
The movie’s official title and cast was announced by Sony Pictures in a press release on Wednesday. According to the studio, Tarantino has described the movie as “a story that takes place in Los Angeles in 1969, at the height of Hippy Hollywood.”
Leonardo is set to play the role of a former TV star, Rick Dalton. While Pitt has been roped in to play the role of Cliff Booth who happens to be Rick’s stunt double. Tarantino explained he premises of the movie where both Rick and Cliff are struggling to make it big in Hollywood. “But Rick has a very famous next-door neighbour, Sharon Tate,” he further added.
The movie is based on the gruesome murders of several people including Sharon Tate, a celebrated actress and model by the followers of Charles Manson, one of America’s most notorious cult criminals. Sharon Tate was the wife of director Roman Polanski and was eight and a half months pregnant.

The movie is reportedly set to hit the screens on the 9 th of August, 2019. The particular date was set as it comes 50 years after Sharon Tate and her friends were murdered. Tarantino started working on the script five years ago and he mentioned that he couldn’t have been happier about working with DiCaprio and Pitt.
DiCaprio and Pitt worked with Tarantino in Django Unchained (2012) and Inglourious Basterds
(2009), respectively. Quentin Tarantino has won two Oscars for the screenplays of Django Unchained
and Pulp Fiction.
