1. The Cast & Crew
The “Too Hot to Handle” Chris Pratt and the “Ever Gorgeous” Jennifer Lawrence stars in this much-awaited sci-fi thriller of the year. Chris plays a mechanic whose talents are “obsolete” and Lawrence is an affluent “intellectual” writer from New York in the film. The other cast of the film includes Laurence Fishburne, Michael Sheen and Andy Garcia. Helmed by the Norwegian film-maker Morten Tyldem, best known for “The Imitation Game” and written by Jon Spaihts, Passengers is produced by Neal H. Moritz and Ori Marmur. 2. The Plot
The basic plot of the film revolves around Chris and Jennifer’s characters, Jim and Aurora Lane respectively. They are two passengers aboarding a spacecraft on a 120-year long journey to another planet. They are somehow awakened from their sleep some 90 years earlier than due, after a malfunction in their hibernation pods. While some thousand other passengers are still asleep, Jim and Aurora (Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence) discover that the malfunction might have been bigger than they had imagined and the entire craft might be headed towards destruction.
3. The Trailer
Pairing up two of Hollywood’s most bankable and beloved stars in an ambitious sci-fi thriller/romance was considered by film specialist a bit of a gamble until the trailer was released. Full of action-packed sequences and some steamy scenes between the leads, if the trailer is anything to go by, Passengers is going to be the first hit of the year.
4. The Trivia
Did you know that Keanu Reeves and Reese Witherspoon were the first choices to play the roles of Jim and Aurora in Passengers. Reeves production house, Company Films is one of the co-producers of Passengers. He had such immense faith in the film that he decided to play the male lead himself but finally, when the film rolled on floors he dropped out and Chris Pratt replaced him. Reese was replaced by Jennifer Lawrence.
