After wooing everyone with the teasers of Deadpool 2, Ryan Reynolds is all set to appear in this upcoming thriller movie Detective Pikachu. Pikachu, which you all must be aware of, is a Pokemon and is a worldwide sensation since over a decade. With an adorable mouse-like appearance and cute sounds of “Pika, Pika!” this Pokemon administers high voltage electric shocks and this has made Pikachu one of the best-known characters in Pokemon universe. The title of the movie Detective Pikachu is derived from a 2016 game which is currently only available through Nintendo’s Japanese eShop.
Talking about this much anticipated film, the Deadpool star will be voicing the 3D motion character of a self-styled investigator who is good at finding things. It will be directed by Rob Letterman, who previously directed the much liked Goosebumps movie. Alex Hirsch and Nicole Perlman have written the latest draft of the script where Universal is handling distribution of the live-action film outside Japan, and Toho will handle distribution in Japan.
Reynolds won’t just be saying the usual “Pika, Pika” as the iconic character has been known to do for decades — he’s actually going to talk. We are going to be looking at Detective Pikachu and Ryan Reynolds’ voice will be coming out of it, just talking and solving cases. Well the audiences are pretty happy with the way this is shaping for the Pokemon and the Reynolds fan and let’s hope this movie kick some ass and give us the entertainment we always wanted.
