Exactly after two decades since Salman Khan’s iconic Judwaa was released, the first look of Judwaa 2 is unveiled. Tapori Raja and Dapper Prem once again come to celluloid! But this time, Varun Dhawan is all set to step into Salman’s shoes. He is teaming up with his father David Dhawan and Sajid Nadiadwala to take this franchise forward with Judwaa 2. Interestingly just like Judwaa was Salman Khan’s first movie where he played a double role, Judwaa 2 will also see Varun Dhawan in a double role for the first time in his career. While Jacqueline Fernandez will be essaying the role of Karisma Kapoor from the original, Tapsee Pannu will be the other heroine with Varun for his Judwaa avatar. And if rumours are to be believed, Salman and Karisma will also be seen in cameo roles.
Just a day after the trailer of his upcoming film with Alia Bhatt, Badrinath Ki Dulhania, was released, Varun Dhawan shared the first look of his next much-awaited film, Judwaa 2 on his twitter. The actor is on a roll. While Badrinath Ki Dulhania is scheduled to release this Holi, Judwaa will hit the theatres on September 29th. The sequel too will have Varun playing two diametrically opposite characters: Prem, a suit clad, bespectacled well-mannered NRI, and Raja, a rowdy long-haired ‘tapori’. The makers have retained two of Anu Malik’s hit songs from the original film: Chalti Hai Kya Nau Se Barah and Oonchi Hai Building. It is also reported that model-turned-actor, Vivan Bhatena, who was last seen in Aamir Khan starrer Dangal, will be playing a stylish baddie in the film. Apparently the actor had gained weight for his wrestler role in Dangal, which he is shedding now for his role in Judwaa 2.
The filming of the first segment of the film, which is a devotional song dedicated to lord Ganesha, has started and the team is pretty excited about it. Most of the film will be shot in Mumbai, Thailand and London, and the shooting is expected to complete by July as the film is scheduled to release in September. David Dhawan struck gold with Judwaa in 1997. He hopes to weave that magic again after 20 years with his son Varun Dhawan. If first look is anything to go by, Judwaa 2 will take us on a roller coaster ride filled with laughter.
