The Tamil Film Industry begins to come back to its normal routines after a 45-day long strike between Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC) and Digital Service Providers over exorbitant rates charged as Visual Print Fee (VPF). During the 45-day strike, the only movie that was released was the silent thriller Mercury.

Suriya’s NGK is back to shooting and actress Rakul Preet Singh’s tweet confirms the news.

At the same time, Vijay and AR Murugadoss are reuniting after hit movies Thupakki and Kaththi. The upcoming movie, titled Thalapathy 62 would commence shooting from April 25 2018 and is slated to release on Diwali. Vijay is paired with Keethy Suresh after their last year’s movie Bairavaa. Oscar–winning musician A R Rahman, cinematographer Girish Gangadharan and editor Sreekar Prasad unite for this project.

Ajith’s Viswasam, which would be his fourth movie with Siva is also ready to go on floors. The movie will go on floors from May 5 2018. The movie would be shot in a specially designed set at Ramoji Film City. Viswasam would star Nayantara as Ajith’s leading lady.

Suriya’s NGK, Vijay’s Thalapathy 62 and Ajith’s Viswasam would most likely hit the screens during Diwali 2018. Meanwhile, Tamil movie fans are in for some big time treat as Superstar Rajnikanth’s Kaala, Ulakanayakan Kamal Haasan’s Viswaroopam 2 and Vishal’s Irumbuthurai would release in the days to come.
