Vikram Chandra’s critically acclaimed book Sacred Games is going to be made into a TV show with some of the top actors from B-town. Netflix had collaborated with Phantom Films to come out with its first Hindi-English original web series.

Set amid the chaos of Mumbai, this epic series explores the corrupt underworld beneath India’s economic renaissance. This drama web-series brings together the best of Bollywood. Saif Ali Khan will be playing the role of Sartaj Singh the protagonist of the show. Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Radhika Apte will also play pivotal parts in the series where Nawaz will be seen playing the role of the antagonist in this 8 episode series. Since there will be no language restrictions either, the star cast of this upcmong Netflix series feels that it will help them to not only reach out to a wider audience but also depict the metropolitan culture of Mumbai more accurately and aptly.
Also at the same time, the project will be produced by Phantom Films and helmed by two of its key stakeholders –Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane with Anurag directing the series. This Gangs Of Wasseypur director is pretty excited about the project where he thinks he is under an immense amount of pressure since people from all over the world will be watching the show. Such a show on Netflix opens them to a global audience and competition from Western shows such as Narcos, 13 Reasons Why and The Crown. Both Kashyap and Motwane are nervous but at the same time feel challenged to push the envelope and make big of the opportunity. This is an interesting piece to bump into, right guys?
