Biopics are the safest way to go around if you are looking for a clear shot winner. You make biopics on politicians, sports persons or even some goons, it is going to hit a home run for you anyway. But this one here is going to be a little different. We are talking about one of the most iconic martial artists we’ve ever seen in our lives. A biopic on Bruce Lee, a Chinese-American martial arts superstar is already in the pipeline and the makers have approached the veteran director Shekhar Kapur to direct the film.
Shekhar Kapur has stated to a daily news source, “We are working on the script and the first script draft was written by Bruce’s daughter, Shannon Lee.” Kapur has also expressed his thought of Indian movies having a wide scope in Chinese markets and has said, “I used to say Indian films will definitely be very popular in China and yes, they are. Dangal has proved what I said.”
The film will be titled Little Dragon and is planned as an official U.S.-China co-production, with several Chinese companies expected to co-finance and co-produce the film. The feature film will take into account Lee’s early life before he left Hong Kong for Hollywood and went on to become an icon and Kung-Fu movie master in the 1970s. The audiences are already excited for this venture and having an Indian and someone as talented as Shekhar Kapur on board for the movie will be pretty good in the Indian market too. We hope the movie does well and we get to see the action in full power with this sports biopic.
