The trailer for Irrfan Khan’s Blackmail is finally out and it is nothing short of eccentric. The trailer for the black comedy begins with Irrfan Khan’s middle class man character Dev, narrating a tale to his friend while inebriated. The tale is about him discovering his wife’s illicit relationship. Over discovering the relationship, he is left with two options – either kill his wife or kill her lover.

Fortunately for Dev, genius strikes him and he resolves to blackmail his wife and her lover for a ransom of Rs. 1 lakh. The love birds attempt to gather the money by all means possible, even if it meant asking the husband. The seemingly straightforward revenge episode gets an evil spin and a madcap trip ensues. Irrfan Khan gets blackmailed and all hell turns loose. The trailer ends on an offbeat cliffhanger where Dev’s friend says that such incidents makes a serial killer.

Talking about Blackmail, director Abhinay Deo said:

“Delhi Belly was an amazing script, and after the massive success of the film, I was looking for a script that would be at par if not better, and then finally 47 scripts and 6 years later I found the one. The moment I read the script, I knew that Blackmail was the film I wanted to make next.”

Blackmail, directed by Abhinav Deo and produced by T-Series, stars Irrfan Khan, Kirti Kulhari, Arunoday Singh, Divya Dutta and Omi Vaidya. On the music front, the music album for Blackmail would feature singers like Baadshah, Guru Randhawa, Amit Trivedi and rapper Divine. Blackmail is slated to release on April 6th .
