After mesmerizing us with their sizzling chemistry in Aashiqui 2, Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor are set to recreate that magic again with OK Jaanu. At least that’s what the trailer promises. Directed by Shaad Ali and produced by Mani Ratnam and Karan Johar under their banners Madras Talkie and Dharma Productions respectively, OK Jaanu is the official Hindi remake of the Tamil film, O Kadhal Kanmani. The film has been arousing the audience’s curiosity with several posters over few months and now with the trailer, it has finally piqued interest amongst the viewers.
The trailer of this much-awaited Hindi romantic drama movie got released today and it promises to be a refreshing take on modern relationships. Shraddha plays Tara, an ambitious girl who hopes to study architecture in Paris and Aditya wants to be the next Mark Zuckerberg and will head to the US soon. They both are in love and want to make most of their time together before their ambitions take them to their respective paths. This love story delves into the joys, emotions and confusions of today’s youth as they grapple with relationships. Can you switch love on and off according to your convenience? This is the question OK Jaanu asks. The film also features Naseeruddin Shah and Leela Samson playing supporting roles as an older couple in the film.
Apart from the sizzling chemistry the lead pair shares in the trailer, another thing that binds you more to it is the music which is composed by the Mozart of Madras, A. R. Rehman. He has re-used most of his compositions from O Kadhal Kanmani, in addition to three new songs for OK Jaanu. It is also rumored that his hit song from 1995, “Hamma Hamma”, has been recreated with different singers.
