Alia Bhatt
Written by Varsha Pillai

The trailer for Alia Bhatt’s latest movie Raazi is out and the trailer promises us an astounding performance by Alia. The trailer takes us back to 1971 when India and Pakistan were on the brink of war. The trailer then introduces us to the character of Sehmet, who is an innocent girl oblivious of espionage. Sehmet is married off to Pakistan by her father Hidayat who believes that nation comes before oneself.

Sehmet’s husband is been portrayed by Vicky Kaushal who is a Pakistani army official. Sehmet is then shown to be getting used to her Pakistani family while living a double life as an undercover Indian spy. The trailer also gives us a sneak peek into her grueling training sessions where she is told to pass on any information that reaches her. Raazi explores three sides of Sehmet’s character- a spy, a wife and a daughter.

The trailer leaves us on a cliffhanger where Sehmet is seen inconsolable in her bed. Did she fail in her operation? Did anything happen to her parents or husband? Questions like these would be answered once the movie is released.

Raazi, based on a true story of sacrifice and valor is helmed by Meghna Gulzar who previously directed Talwar. The movie is produced by Dharma Productions and Junglee Pictures while the musical trio Shankar Ehsaan Loy have composed the music. Witness this incredible tale unfold in cinemas on 11 May 2018.
