This is the time where we are living in such a world where the Internet has taken over everything. With memes of famous movie and TV show characters on Facebook & Instagram, to the reaction videos on Snapchat spreading like wildfire, YouTube cover videos are the next big thing which people love watching. If the song has got a catchy tune to it, the cover artist has okayish looks and knows how to sing, the cover video is a hit for sure. With some crazy people like Dhinchak Pooja singing songs about selfies and Taher Shah showing his angelic side, we wonder it’s actually not a big task to get famous on YouTube. Well jokes apart, we have three stunning music sensations who have stirred the country in past three years, have a look at them here.

This girl is unknown to no one after her recent covers and collaborations on YouTube. From the time she sang a cover of ‘Tum Hi Ho’ 4 years back, she discovered her passion for music over YouTube within a shorter period of time. She is a western singer, performer from Auckland, New Zealand with her origins from India and is a graduate student from the University of Auckland. Some of her famous covers on YouTube include Bol Do Na Zara from movie Azhar, Baarish from Yaariyan and Mashup of Justin Bieber songs in collaboration with Kurt Hugo Schneider.

Fusing energy with some incredible melodies, this hit boy-band, Sanam, reached an impressive peak over the last four years or so and has become the biggest pop music sensation in India. The group consists of Venky S on bass, Samar Puri on guitar, Keshav Dhanraj on drums and frontman and vocalist, Sanam Puri. The band’s YouTube channel has surpassed a staggering 11 million views per month and 100 million lifetime views, putting them on top of the leaderboards not only in terms of music artists, but also across popular genres like comedy. The singer Sanam Puri has sung two songs in Bollywood- Dhat Teri Ki in movie Gori Tere Pyaar Mein and Ishq Bulaava in Hasee Toh Phasee.

Vidya Iyer or Vidya Vox for her fans, falls under the same category and is rising to fame not only in India but in many parts of the world. She’s currently learning Hindustani classical music and taking Western voice lessons. Vidya performs regularly as a vocalist of the Shankar Tucker Band and has performed in some amazing venues around the world, including the White House, NCPA and Webster Hall. Vidya has also performed at numerous festivals including the Festival Des Artes in Reunion Island, MERU in the Netherlands and INK Women. Today she has 1.8 mn subscribers, is one of the most successful YouTubers in India and we would love to see her perform live in Mumbai soon.
