The highly anticipated night of the year for Indian music fans finally took place last night. The Canadian pop sensation, Justin Bieber’s maiden India concert was held at D.Y Patil Stadium, Mumbai last night and was fully packed. It was beyond successful in terms of the attendance at least. The BookMyShow box office witnessed a crowd like never before and people were standing in queues since early morning. From kids coming with their parents to young girls coming with their groups to the couples and then the ardent Beliebers for sure, the whole area around the venue was jam packed with more than 45000+ people in for the JB show.
While many Indians are still enthralled with the magic they saw last night and term it as the best experience of their lifetime, there are still a few who have come to social media to express their disappointment. Bieber definitely made everyone swoon to his music last night, but in the darkness of the night and the aura he carries around him when he is on the stage, most people could not notice that the pop sensation was all lip syncing the songs.
The Asia leg of the Purpose World Tour in India started with Indian DJ’s Sartek and Zaiden and afterwards we all saw Faded song sensation Alan Walker on the stage. Justin joined the big bash at 8 in the night where he started his 2 hour set with ‘Where Are You Now?’. Everything progressed smoothly with his usual set, and Justin also tossed his scarf into the crowd for a lucky girl to catch. The two hours were almost over as he performed what is usually the last track on his set- ‘Purpose’.
Before the concert could get over, Justin asked Beliebers to stay quiet and listen to him. Then he told the audience he named this tour Purpose for a reason. And when one would think the concert is over, the stage is empty, Bieber came back and performed everyone’s favourite track ‘Sorry’ and had fans yelling and having the best time of their lives! This Indian leg of the Purpose Tour might have been the most magnificent concert held on Indian soil, but Justin Bieber sure did lose a group of loyal fans who were expecting something more than what he offered them. Well never mind, this is not the end of the musical year that we are having. If you think Justin Bieber was the biggest thing happening this year, wait for Ed Sheeran’s Indian concert this year in November!
