English singer-songwriter, James Blunt has made an exciting announcement on Facebook informing his fans that he would be playing in India for the first time ever next year in April. The singer known for his 2004 hit single You’re Beautiful, had reached #1 on the Billboard U.S. charts back then and had remained there for over 38 weeks. He has sold north of eleven million copies of his first album Back to Bedlam alone, which was also the bestselling album of the 2000s in the UK. The concert dates haven’t been announced and neither has the sale of tickets begun but that doesn’t stop us from being excited about the concert.
His latest and fifth album was recently released this year in March and is titled The Afterlove which was preceded by the single Love Me Better. Blunt has reportedly spent over two years writing songs for the album and wanted it to be different from all his previous ones.
He is currently on The Afterlove World Tour and is performing in the UK. The tour takes place across Europe, Asia, South America and Australasia. James had joined singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran on the North American leg of his tour which had fans excited. His new album has some glowing songwriting credits from the likes of One Republic’s Ryan Tedder, Snow Patrol’s Johnny McDaid, Amy Wadge and MoZella. We can’t wait to see the hit maker back in action and belting out our favourite tunes while we reminisce sweet memories of our childhood. April, come soon already.
