Former One Direction member, Zayn Malik has got some interesting news for all his fans from the Indian subcontinent. The British-Pakistani heartthrob has recently recorded a Hindi song for a Bollywood movie.

Talking about his debut in Bollywood, Zayn shared:

“It’s one of the first songs I’ve sung in full Hindi, so it’s going to be cool to see what the response is. I feel like I’m in the control seat, I’m doing my own thing and I’m enjoying it.”

On Wednesday, Zayn Malik took to Instagram to share a vintage photo he found from his family album. The photo consisted of his father Yaser Malik along with actor Dilip Kumar. Yaser Malik and Dilip Kumar were both born in Pakistan. Dilip Kumar has his ancestral home in Peshawar, Pakistan. In the 1930’s Dilip Kumar’s family moved to Mumbai in India.

When probed about his favorite Bollywood star, the popstar confided that he grew up watching movies of Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan. He also happens to be a huge fan of Bollywood’s Baadshah, Shah Rukh Khan. He gushed:

“If you ever get a chance to watch a good Bollywood movie, watch Devdas! Have you seen Devdas? It’s got Shah Rukh Khan in it. You know who Shah Rukh Khan is?”

He initially felt that Shah Rukh Khan was a bit arrogant, partly due to the kind of characters he played onscreen. But his opinion on the superstar took a 180 when he met Khan during Asian Awards back in November 2015. He said:

<i”I realized how humble he is. Really showed a different side to him. He always came across as slightly arrogant in the movies to me but when I met him in real life, he was so nice.”

On the album front, Zayn is working on his upcoming album which would have Urdu songs and Qawwalis. He added that the album may also have some bhangra vibes.

Looks like Zayn’s solo career is spearheaded with his intention to head back to his Pakistani roots.
