Naseeruddin Shah is one of the most versatile actors in the Indian Film Industry. He has been a part of the Bollywood scene since 1980 and has proved his mettle amongst all the actors of the cinema industry. He began his acting career with Shyam Benegal’s drama film Nishant and went on to star in path-breaking films like Umrao Jaan (1981), Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro (1983), Being Cyrus (2006), and A Wednesday (2008) among many more. For his immense contribution to Indian cinema, this multiple National Film Award winning actor was felicitated with the coveted Padma Shri and the Padma Bhushan, in 1987 and 2003, respectively. He has been very instrumental in promoting art films and theatre to the next level all together and has come up with a new play for you to sit back and enjoy.

Based on writings by Canadian humorist Stephen Leacock (1869-1944), this play Riding Madly Off In All Directions is directed by Naseeruddin Shah, and features him alongside wife Ratna Pathak, and children Heeba, Imaad and Vivaan. The story is collection of short stories in English, based on Canadian writer Stephen Leacock's ruminations, and are each stand-alone acts. The play has a special kind of humor to subscribe to. It's the build-up of each piece that is interesting to watch. It's a complete, humorous family entertainment for you to come and experience with your friends and family.

The play itself makes fun of all things meticulously. And true to their group's title, the Shahs do come across as an acting group of disarming diversity, a motley crew if ever there is one. This family is surely talented and will give you something to look forward to and imbibe strong values in your minds for the rest of your lives. We all know that Shahs have an inclination towards quality cinema and Naseeruddin Shah and his wife Ratna have been in this industry and entertained us for over two decades and this time they have their children along with them! It will be a treat for all the cinema lovers as this is one of the best theatre events in Chennai. So don't wait for long, this event is just a week away. Book your tickets right away and book yourself a spot to witness this great evening.
