Indian super league 2016 superbly kicked off at Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium, Guwahati on 1st of October. Northeast United FC scored 1st goal and registered their 1st win. Last year’s Chennaiyin FC battled against 2014 champions Atletico de Kolkata on 2nd October and settled with a draw. Both the teams heaved a sigh of relief.

John Arne Riise, the marquee player, who earlier was roped in by Delhi Dynamos in the first-year franchise of ISL football; was invited by the Chennaiyin FC Manager and Coach Marco Materazzi. The Chennaiyin FC coach and John Arne are quite defiant and proudly stated, in retaining the trophy this year as well. Norwegian Star John Arne Riise advocates Materazzi’s style of playing football. This year, the gaming strategy is going to be more about the possession and retaining the ball; a more controlled game is what they are aiming for. Under the ownership of MS Dhoni, Vita Dani and new co-owner Abhishek Bachchan, Chennaiyin FC is the strongest contender of all the ISL teams.

2014 Champions, Atletico de Kolkata, are more than determined this time. The Portuguese striker, Helder Postiga with his Spanish team coach, Jose Molina; is undaunted and valiant about the fact that victory is completely theirs. They truly believe in showing results in ISL football and prove their mettle in Indian Super League this time. The manager and the captain, after three weeks of intensive training at Segovelia, Spain; we’re back in routine to train within a couple of hours. Such is the unfazed attitude of the whole team.

Zico, Goa FC chief manager; is set to come with a big bang. Arthur Antunes Coimbra or lovingly called as Zico has chosen Brazil Captain, Lucio as a marquee. He has maintained the same set of 6 foreigner players from the previous franchise of ISL Goa FC. The only set back they suffered was signing domestic players, which they started pretty much late than the other teams. Hence, they pegged relatively new players. Also, they chose to have all the three Indian Goalkeepers, Laxmikant Kattimani, Subhashish Roy Chowdhary and Sukhdev Patil for Goa FC. ISL news streamed their match live on October 4th, against Northeast United FC. Northeast United FC registered their victory over Goa FC by scoring clean two goals; whereas Goa FC couldn’t even open their account.

Indian Super League 2016 highlights eight-team again, this season; With 61 matches in the duration of 79 days in a home and away league format. The whole agenda is to make and serve the same adrenaline rush, which cricket offers. The same pomp and enthusiasm ISL football is able to generate or no; Let’s Watch!

Summary: ISL football league, 2013 establishment; begins this year on 1st October, with full vigor and zest in Guwahati. The old arch rivals with new managers and captains come up with new strategies and haute attitude.
