The ongoing India-Sri Lanka Test Series will be kicking on with the second test match tomorrow and two of the key players from the squad have been released due to personal reasons. According to the acting Secretary of the BCCI Amitabh Choudhary, Bhuvneshwar Kumar will take no further part in the Test series whilst Shikhar Dhawan will be available for selection in the third Test. Both these players performed exceptionally well in the first Test against the Sri Lankan cricket team at Kolkata, which couldn’t end in a result though.
Opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan scored 94 in the second innings whilst the pace battery Bhuvneshwar Kumar was awarded the Man of the Match as he ended the Test match with figures of 8/96. In Bhuvneshwar’s place, Vijay Shankar, the Tamil Nadu Ranji skipper, has been roped in, while Murali Vijay is expected to come back in the place of Shikhar Dhawan. Shankar is not expected to play in the second test however, as Murali Vijay is the reserve opener in the squad and Ishant Sharma is the third pacer, both of whom are available replacements at the moment and are more experienced too.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar is getting married this month and his friend Shikhar Dhawan’s Tweet is quite hilarious and targeted at his friend. You can have a look below at what he has to say for his marriage.
The second test match between India and Sri Lanka will begin tomorrow on November 24 and will be held at Nagpur.
