The eleventh season of Indian Premier League is set to take India by storm. With the star-studded opening ceremony only days away, fans just can’t contain their excitement. According to recent reports, Ranveer Singh would be replaced by Hrithik Roshan in the 45-minute opening ceremony. Ranveer Singh injured his shoulder while playing for a charity football match.

The Padmaavat actor’s injury was confirmed by his spokesperson.

“Ranveer Singh has injured his shoulder during a football match and has been advised not to overstrain it for at least one month. Ranveer is, however, not taking any breaks and will continue shooting for ‘Gully Boy’ as per schedule.”

Hrithik Roshan had earlier captivated audiences with his energetic dance moves in 2015, while performing for the opening ceremony. Apart from Hrithik Roshan, Varun Dhawan, Parineeti Chopra, Jacqueline Fernandez, Prabhudeva and Mika Singh will add the sparkle factor to the opening ceremony. Board of Cricket Council of India (BCCI) strongly believe that these young superstars would connect with the audiences and attract millions of fans.

Various media outlets report that actors were paid hefty sums to perform in the opening ceremony. Ranveer Singh was offered 5 crores for his 5-minute performance while Varun Dhawan bagged the title of being the highest-paid star with a fee of 6 crores. Varun Dhawan has been taking practicing his dance moves for the opening ceremony and a video of the actor has surfaced online.
