Indian Premiere league, one of the most recognized Twenty20 tournaments has returned with its 11th season and is all set to begin on April 7, 2018. The iconic opening ceremony will mark the advent of IPL 2018. As many as 60 matches will be played across 9 venues throughout the country in a span of 51 days.

The first match is an anticipated one because it will see defending champions, Mumbai Indians play against Chennai Super Kings. IPL 2018 also marks the return of CSK to the league after 2 years owing to their suspension.

It was reported by the online travel firm, Goibibo that it has been signed up as the principal sponsor of the IPL team, Mumbai Indians for one year. Under the partnership, brand Goibibo will be spotted on the back of the Mumbai Indians’ team jersey this season.

While Goibibo is a part of MakeMyTrip, the MakeMyTrip Group CMO Saujanya Shrivastava said:

“The association with Mumbai Indians presents a consumer-focused brand like ours a unique opportunity to deepen our engagement with customers in a truly innovative manner.”

The men in blue hold the record for winning the most matches as well as titles in the history of IPL. They have won 91 matches and 3 titles in the 10 seasons of the league.

Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah were retained by MI.

“Rohit and MI are synonymous while Hardik and Bumrah are pillars of our franchise. We are happy that we were able to retain some players.” – Akash Ambani

MI used their RTM cards for their all-rounder, Kieron Pollard and Krunal Pandya. Out of the 18 players squad that brought Mumbai its third title win, only 6 players remain with Mumbai for IPL 2018.

Whether Mumbai will be able to retain their title this year or not, only time will tell.
