After the humiliating losses and the intense cricket for three whole months, Virat Kohli and his crew have emerged victorious in all the three formats of the game against the British team. The final time came for the visitors to wrap their tour of India up with one final match – the third Twenty20 International (T20I) in Bengaluru on Wednesday. It was the first time that a series had come down to a decider in this tour and India comfortably managed to thrash the Brit side by a good margin of 75 runs. Team India already ruled the Test series by 4-0 and clinched the ODI series 2-1 convincingly.
Thanks to the magical spell of Yuzvendra Chahal in the second innings where he managed to pick up 6 wickets. The batsmen also looked great on this batting pitch scoring a mammoth of 202 runs after hitting 12 sixes and 11 fours. Just like the last match, KL Rahul managed to give the team a good start and after that, there was no stopping to the Indian side. Dhoni and Raina got off to a great partnership and the last addendum by Yuvraj Singh made all the magic possible.
All said and done, we had a high-scoring thriller lit up by the innings of K Rahul first and then by Raina, Dhoni, and Yuvraj. This trio has got their form back in the England tour and can be said that they are strong contenders for the upcoming Australia Test match series in India.
Still, if there was any silver lining to a display this humongous loss, England will no longer be able to avoid these pointed questions on their current form in international cricket. And why they have consistently failed to produce their best cricket when the heat is on! Of their last 11 finals or deciding matches of any series, this England team has lost 8 matches making them vulnerable in front of the whole cricketing fraternity. It is becoming more of a pattern than coincidence and is of their utmost concern at the moment.
It was embarrassing for England, but their vexation at losing will probably be relieved by their visit to home after a long duration of three months. They will have a month to recharge and refresh before they go to the Caribbean for a series of 3 ODI’s. India is all set to face Bangladesh after this blasphemous victory in a Test match which is going to be held on 9th February, next week! It was a definitely memorable great tour for the Indian Captain as he got the charge of the Indian Cricket team for the first time. The support of senior players Dhoni, Yuvi and Nehra has proven to be useful. Let’s see what do the fates have in mind for the newly anointed captain Virat and the Men In Blue in the upcoming cricketing sport season!
