Team India Takes On The Aussies in Four Test Match Series

India vs Australia Test
Written by Archit Chawla

The season of cricket has taken a new course as India is playing Australia in a four match Test series which started yesterday, 23rd February. Men In Blue have been in a good form and shape as they whitewashed New Zealand in October and England in December in consecutive series. Their face-off test has also powered India to keep up their unbeaten streak of winning 19 tests. This Virat Kohli- led side has been performing at the top of the cricketing game and continues to be #1 in ICC Test Team Rankings.

India vs Australia 4 Match Series

Steve Smith-led team Australia after winning the toss chose to bat. But then the fortunes of both the teams oscillated as one point of time the batting side was 119/1. And gradually Team India edging ahead made 205/9 possible on the day 1 itself. The pace bowler Mitchell Starc then took on the responsibility and score an entertaining fifty with his long handle bat and sent Jadeja, Ishant and Co. for stream of boundaries.

Nevertheless, the spin department led by Ashwin, Jayant and Jadeja ripped through the cream line-up. Umesh Yadav took 4 good wickets and bowled a masterful spell of 12 overs demolishing the Australian middle order. India’s real power today was in fielding and they managed to save some really great shots. Saha, in particular, had a great day behind the stumps and managed to save a catch flying, like a goalkeeper saves a goal. The team was refreshed, all excited and ready to kick some good knuckles.

Captain Kohli after getting the captaincy of ODI Team surely knows how to keep both the sides balanced and take full advantage of their current blasting form. Nevertheless, Team India is in great shape and is all ready to beat down Aussies in the four Test Match Series which started yesterday. The Aussies have also defeated Pakistan 3-0 earlier this year. Steve Smith, David Warner and Mitchell Starc from Aussie side seems to be in a top notch form too.
