If you’re a Christopher Nolan fan, then you’ve been waiting with bated breath and eager anticipation for his next directorial venture since Interstellar. If you’re a true fan, you also know that the wait has been two years, one month and nine days long so far. Though the wait will continue until July of next year, it’s about to become a lot easier with the first full preview of Dunkirk having finally released.

The fans were teased to a small minute long announcement trailer back in August, but now a full-fledged movie preview has dropped sending the fans in a frenzy. This is the first time the master filmmaker will be attempting a movie that is based on a historical event. He is generally known for fictional films that are brilliant, postmodern and riddled with complexities. But Christopher Nolan is credited with making films that are nothing short of genius, so you can be rest assured than Dunkirk is in the best hands possible. After all he is the sixth highest grossing director of all times.

Christopher Nolan is back collaborating with music composer Hans Zimmer and cinematographer Hoyte van Hoytema and when these three creative heads come together what comes of it is simply beautiful.

The Dunkirk preview gives a glimpse at some of the well-known Nolan movie veterans like Cillian Murphy as well as a blink and a miss appearance by Tom Hardy. Apart from them Sir Kenneth Branagh plays a prominent role. Actor Mark Rylance who won the BAFTA Award for his role in the movie Bridge of Spies will also be making an appearance in the movie, and makes a brief cameo in the preview as well. One Direction’s singer Harry Styles who’ll be making his acting debut with Nolan’s Dunkirk gets quite a bit of screen space in the preview and does a pretty impressive job.

But the high point of the preview hands down happens to be Hans Zimmer’s background score. His fourth collaboration with Christopher Nolan, Hans Zimmer has truly outdone himself with Dunkirk. The music impeccably interplays with the scenes creating the right blend of urgency and melancholy.

Even though it’s set to release in the summer of next year, there’s no doubt that this hollywood movie will be a box office success. After all, it is a Christopher Nolan movie.
