After an intriguing teaser released a few weeks ago, the first trailer of MOM is out and throughout the two minutes and 7 seconds of the trailer, Sri Devi keeps us hooked. The last time she played a mother, in English Vinglish, she made us laugh, cry and cheer for her. This time as a mother in MOM we see her as a mother who is hell bent on mending her relationship with her step daughter, and for this she can go to any lengths. By the feel of the trailer, MOM seems like a dark and gritty thriller which explores the relationship of a mother and her estranged daughter.

The trailer starts with Sri Devi asking, “Galat aur bahut galat mein se chunna ho toh aap kya chunenge?” It follows the story of Devki and her young teenage daughter, Arya. The mother has to make some tough choices for the sake of her daughter. Devki seems to be extremely concerned about her daughter and is seen getting involved in finding the truths associated with her Arya's life. However what happens to Arya, is still a mystery in the trailer. Also, what we can glimpse from the trailer is an estranged relationship between a mother and daughter. Another highlight of the trailer is Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who introduces himself as DK. He is helping Devki in something. Akshaye Khanna also impress us with his menacing looks in the trailer. Overall the two minute 7 second trailer has the right elements of a thrilling mystery to keep our excitement high till the movie releases on July 7th .

Written and directed by Ravi Udyawar and produced by Boney Kapoor, MOM will be released in Malayalam, Telugu and Tamil too, apart from Hindi. Interestingly, this is Sri Devi's 300th movie and is releasing in the fifteenth year of her career in the Hindi Film industry. The makers are not leaving any stone unturned to generate as much curiosity around the film as possible. The girl playing Sri Devi's daughter in the film is a popular Pakistani actress, Sajal Ali. Another import from the neighbouring nation is actor Adnan Siddiqui who will be seen playing Sri Devi's husband in the film. The music of the film is given by A.R. Rahman

If the teaser was not enough, now the trailer of Sri Devi's upcoming Hindi movie, MOM, has made us even more curious about the film than ever before!
