The sporting league that has everyone crazy about a sport that was almost forgotten once upon a time is back again - the The Pro Kabaddi League ! The league, which was launched in 2014, has now gained a massive fan following all over India and even abroad! The last season was explosive, and saw eight teams fight it out for two spots in the final, which ended up going to the U Mumba and the Jaipur Pink Panther sides. The Jaipur boys took the cup home, went down in history as the first victors of Asia's first kabaddi league.
The second season of the league took off recently, beginning on the 18th of July. A few matches have taken place in the interim, and these have been some really close matches! We've also spotted a few teams who seem to be taking the competition really seriously, including the Patna Pirates, the Jaipur Pink Panthers and more. Owned by KVS Energy and Sports, the Patna boys have big names on their roster, including players such as Rakesh Kumar (who is the captain of the Indian Kabaddi Team), Abhinandan Kumar, Deepak Narwal, Gurvinder Singh, Ravi Dalal, Amit Hooda and more. The Patna side has been doing well in the second season, currently placed at fifth position, with 7 points.
Two other teams who have caught everyone's eyes are the Puneri Paltan and the Telugu Titans, who have returned to the league with a vengeance. The Telugu side has been making waves in the second season, reaching second place, behind the Mumbai team, with 21 points. The Punekars are yet to find their footing in the league, and are currently in the last place, with 3 points. They are a strong side, and the only thing they seem to be lacking is motivation and a unifying factor. Give them time, and they might just bounce back, to make a stunning return to the league. With all the teams ready to give it their all in the league, the viewers are certainly looking forward to some epic matches. We can't wait to see who enters the finals!
