If you have ever wondered what city would best fit the needs of someone who is out on the hunt for the best city in India to catch plays, then the answer would always be Kolkata. At Least 9 out of 10 times this is the city that will have a mention. And well, there are many cities that have really good plays going on at all times but if it is great that you are on the lookout for, then this is where you set sail for. So, now that we have that out of the way, you might be wondering what is happening in the domain of plays in the coming days.

The Birthday Party Harold Printer’s The Birthday Party is not your typical comic act, but it has it’s quirks that will leave you roaring with laughter. A place where you find absurdism fused with realism. The ‘Silence’ is mesmerizing and Theatrecian’s perspective of the text explores certain concepts that aren’t justified by society.

Magon Rajar Pala A story that explores the impact of negative jobs on people who are generally positive and have a positive outlook towards life. The story revolves around two thieves who have the same motive and meet each other accidentally in a vacant flat. Both of them have very different reasons to be doing what they are doing. Raja is well educated yet he is a failure in life and Megan is from a poor background and circumstances force him to choose this profession where he steals for survival. Though both of them have very different backgrounds and different life choices, they feel an instant connection. And, honoring the age-old proverb,”Honor amongst thieves”, they decide that they will clear every inch of the house and will distribute everything amongst themselves equally.

Abayab A play that revolves around the life of an aspiring novelist who is aspiring to write the next big thing. He discusses all of his plot points with his partner who also happens to be his biggest critic. Everything that he tries to come up with his partner has an opposing point on the matter. But things take a turn when he finds the characters of his plot in real life, and he wants one of them to play the role in a theatrical production.

About the author

Archit Chawla

Coming from the land of temples and Gods, he is no 'saint'. Archit Chawla is a highly motivated, controlling and a narcissistic nut with an inclination towards sports. He loves to spend his time playing tennis, binge-watching DC and Marvel stuff and karaokeing in the places he shouldn't. He is a big time 'Don Draper' fan and you wouldn't want to argue with him when it comes to 'Game Of Thrones'. With a friendly personality and the famous curls, he is unarguably our first 'Go To' person.
