Toilet Ek Prem Katha Preview: Will Akshay Kumar Succeed In Making His Point?

Akshay Kumar is back again to the big screen with his upcoming Hindi movie, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha and is making all sorts of rounds in the news and on the Internet. The movie is directed by Shree Narayan Singh and has Bhumi Pednekar in the lead opposite Akshay. After the smashing success of Jolly LLB 2, he is back with a film with a unique topic again. The movie has been enjoying a great amount of hype thanks to its lead actor and a different concept of open defecation which is a real problem in rural India.

Toilet: Ek Prem Katha tells the story of a village boy who marries the girl he loves after a lot of efforts. While everything seems going well, his wife realizes that there’s no toilet at his home, women defecate in the fields, and that she is expected to do so too. All hell breaks loose and she decides to move back to her parents' place. As far as the trailer goes, the rest of the movie shows how the hero decides to build a toilet in the village even if it means fighting his own family.

The actor has now started working on satires and these roles have clearly worked in his favor. Even his next movie Padman is based on the life of a social entrepreneur Arunachalam Muruganantham. After Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Raees’ clashed with Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Kaabil’, his second film of the year ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ was also scheduled to lock horns with Akshay’s ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ on August 11, but was rescheduled and kept for this weekend instead.

Well nevertheless, this upcoming movie of Akshay will be talking about the toilet taboo in open and hopes to change the mindset of the people in the country. If you still haven’t watched the trailer of this Hindi movie, check it out here.
