These are the times when we remember the villains more than the good guys. Bad boys have always been essential to the plot of the film. If you remove Joker from The Dark Knight or Hannibal Lecter from The Silence Of The Lambs, the films will not even stand a chance to survive on their own. This is the age of anti-heroes but we’ve lost out on the quintessential villain in this process. We here have compiled a list of some of those actors who are known more for their villainous roles than any thing else in Bollywood. This list of top Bollywood villains will surely give you a nostalgic trip to the times when movies were more effective and were just made for the whole and sole purpose of entertainment. Check it out,
1. Mogambo – Mr. India (Amrish Puri)
This actor was definitely one of the most successful villains in the history of Bollywood movies and till date everyone remembers his favourite dialog, “Mogambo Khush Hua!” Starring alongside Anil Kapoor and Sri Devi, the movie was iconic in itself at that time and we would definitely want to see it’s sequel or a remake.
2. Gabbar – Sholay (Amjad Khan)
Amjad Khan in his most villainous role played the character of Gabbar in the movie Sholay and got famous overnight. His dialogue, “Arre O Sambha, Kitne Aadmi The Re” is still unforgettable and his rivalry with Thakur and the pair of Jai-Veeru (Amitabh-Dharmendra) is something you wouldn’t get to see in today’s movies.
3. Ramadhir Singh – Gangs Of Wasseypur 1 & 2 (Tigmanshu Dhulai)
This character was there in both the parts of the movie and was disliked by almost everyone. Killing all the protagonists and playing the role of a stern politician bags him a tight spot in our list. The movies were directed by Anurag Kashyap and are considered to be cult movies. This critically acclaimed movie had Manoj Bajpayee, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Huma Quereshi in the lead roles.
4. Lajja – Sangharsh (Ashutosh Rana)
A very modest man in real life, Ashutosh Rana has portrayed some very strong roles on screen and audiences have loved to hate his characters. Rana played this character of Lajja to perfection and we still get scared by his performance in the movie. But due to the change in times, he has stopped doing Bollywood movies as the audience no longer considers movies in the way they were before.
5. Kancha Cheena Agneepath (Sanjay Dutt)
Everyone was shocked to see the funny Munna Bhai played by Sanjay Dutt in a voldemort-ish look of Kancha Cheena of Mandwa. Playing this villainous and dreadful role, he delivered an excellent performance opposite Hrithik Roshan in the movie. His wicked smile, puffed-up eyes and scary look in this Bollywood remake has attracted appreciation from all quarters of the audiences.
