Where everyone is charmed by the Indian beauty Manushi Chillar who won the recent Miss World title, Ex Bigg Boss contestant Sofia Hayat has termed the beauty contest outdated. This Indian beauty brought home the crown after seventeen long years and the last time India held the title was when Priyanka Chopra had won it. Since the time she had won it, people started contemplating her entry into Bollywood. While former Miss World title holders from India, Aishwarya Rai and Priyanka Chopra have made their name in the film industry, hopes are high that this heartthrob will follow the suit too.
Sophia Hayat had in fact made some very valid points and questioned its relevance like who decides what is beautiful in today’s times and why is beauty restricted? Nevertheless, there is a big hoopla around this Indian beauty since her felicitation. You can check out her thought provoking post. Here is what she tweeted-
Are they still running this contest..I though it died with the dinosaurs .. who judges beauty these days when beauty does not have a single face or form..you gotta laugh at such prehistoric ideals..beauty is not there to be judged..why isn't a woman in a hijab there..or a somalian with a lip plate there..or a painted American Indian..or a transgender..are they not beautiful?..why is there not a size 16 woman with curves or a bald woman? Miss World is out dated..the real Miss World..is a woman who is Mother nature..a woman with a child..a woman who has stretch marks on her body to show she has lived..to show she like the world..is diverse and different..but mostly..Miss World..would never allow herself to be judged by the standards of others..let alone a committee! Here is to the real Mrs and Miss Worlds of this beautiful planet. Our World..our earth..does not judge her children. Namaste Shalom Salaam. Gaia Mother Sofia Allah Maa
In other news where she was asked about her Bollywood plans she had said, “In the first week of the pageant they thought I was a Bollywood actress. But jokes apart, we all are very similar. We didn’t have any pre-conceived notions about each other. We go there with a fresh mind, there’s a lot of curiosity to know each other” .
