Released last week in India, Kong: Skull Island was worth the long wait! This latest Hollywood Action/Adventure Fantasy movie has got everything that makes it a treat to watch. A fabulous ensemble of actors, stunning visuals and amazing screenplay, Jordan Vogt- Roberts' Kong: Skull Island deseves to be watched atleast once.
Kong: Skull Island is set in the early 1970s, right at the tail end of the Vietnam War. The story starts with Bill Randa (John Goodman), who works at the monster hunting organization called “Monarch“. He wants to explore a previously uncharted island and believes that there's something monstrous abut this island. He wants to document proof of it. For this mission, he hires James Conrad (Tom Hiddleston), former British Special Air Service Captain, to guide an expedition to map out Skull Island. Lieutenant Colonel Preston Packard (Samuel L. Jackson) and his troops also join in. They're going under the impression that all they'll be doing is mapping that island, unaware of what exactly going on in the mind of Bill Randa. Upon getting to the island, a giant ape called “Kong“ appears and most of the team members die. Few remnain and they got separated into two groups; the first group cosists of a few soldiers led by Colonel Packard, and the second group, a bunch of other people led by James (Tom Hiddleston). The groups have three days to get to the North part of the island, which is where they will be rescued. They have to deal with wild creatures as well as their own various motivations for coming on the expedition, both of which threaten to prevent rescue.
What makes the movie stand out are the stunning visuals. Each and every sequence involving King Kong will blow your mind. The film boasts of brilliant special effects. Samuel L. Jackson and Tom Hiddlestone have very little to do in the film, but they play their part with full conviction. The hero of the film is obviously King Kong. Though his actions are violent and brutal, but there's a solid backstory to justify his violent nature and actions. He is a monster but at the same time good to those who are friends to him. Watch Kong: Skull Island for its sheer visuals and special effects.
