Yup, it’s that mushy time of the year again where you can feel the chill in the air and just want to curl up in your bed with a nice cup of hot chocolate or coffee or maybe just a bar of chocolate (anything sweet!). Well… you can always go to the movies, but sometimes just for a change, a cozy movie night is also good.
Listed below are some movies which you can cuddle up to on your "date night."
It’s Bill Murray. Bing! This movie is effortlessly entertaining. It is about a TV weatherman (Bill Murray) who goes to Punxsutawney to report on the famed groundhog. But then a snowstorm prevents him and his crew from leaving, and, the next day Phil (Bill Murray) discovers that he is reliving the previous day. As the same day repeats countless times, Phil reacts to the situation in various ways, first becoming depressed and eventually making the best of the situation.
"Every month is November Sara, and I love you everyday." Ah… Keanu Reeves is always so gorgeous… and so is Charlize Theron. A weepy romantic movie about a workaholic advertising guy Nelson, who meets a happy-go-lucky girl Sarah. She makes a deal with him to give her a month (November it is!) of his life, but does not plan on falling in love. But of course, "Love" is inevitable.
The feeling when your crush smiles back at you. Do you know that feeling? That warm gooey feeling and you almost do a happy dance. Sigh!! Joseph Gordon-Levitt does a similar happy dance to "You make my dream" in the movie. There is a lot of awkward cuteness which will make you smile. And by the end of the movie you will definitely admit that Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel makes a real cute couple.
Benny & Joon
An unusually beautiful movie. It is a story of a brother Benny (Aidan Quinn) and his mentally-ill sister Joon (Mary Stuart Masterson) and their lives. Breaking all monotony, comes along Sam who is dyslexic (yummy Johnny Depp!) Things change when Sam and Joon starts getting attracted to each other. Will their love last?
Young People F******G (YPF)
One night. Five couples. And five different climaxes! If you want to laugh-out-loud, then this movie is the one. Not the usual sex-comedy types, but the minimum drama and the hilarious portrayal of couples and their complications make the movie a fun watch.
Told by an 11-year old Gabe, the film is about how he falls head over heel with his former kindergarten classmate, Rosemary. As he says in the movie "Story of me and Rosemary is not for the weak-stomach. There is violence. Heartache and cruelty. But I am gonna tell her, because someone has to finally tell the truth about love." Reminds you of your first childhood love… huh?
Scott Pilgrim vs The World
Fight for your love people! Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera) met the girl of his dreams Ramona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), the only thing is that he has to defeat her seven evil exes. So what’s next? Does Scott manage to win back his girl? Loaded with a load of energy and fun, this movie will definitely keep you up.
Pirate Radio (The Boat That Rocked)
The best part of this movie are the awesome tracks. It is a period-comedy based in London of the ’60s. A group of RJs illegally broadcast Rock n Roll music from a pirate radio station in the middle of the North Sea. With some really good performance by Bill Nighy, Philip Seymour Hoffman and funny guy Nick Frost, this movie is wholesome entertainment.
Kate & Leopold
Need a reason to watch this movie? Okay! There is Hugh Jackman as a charming aristocratic Duke and forever cute Meg Ryan as a city-slick marketing woman. There is a little bit of time travel and lot of romance. Enjoy the onscreen charm of the lovely couple!
In the mood for animation? Nothing is better than UP! A beautiful movie about a 78 year-old balloon salesman Carl Fredricksen, who finally fulfills his and his wife’s lifelong dream of a great adventure. There is humor, there is love and there is adventure. This movie is will touch your heart.
So, get your cup of comfort drink and cuddle up on your "date night."
