‘Tis the season of rain! Rejoice, for the rain gods have finally arrived in India. It’s time to get out of your cubicles and experience nature’s blessings. Cutting chai, vada pav, long drive and some good music – isn’t that the perfect way of spending a rainy day? Well, we definitely think so. So let’s get prepped. Block a date. 1. Pyaar Hua Ikraar Hua – Shree 420
This song never gets old, no matter how many times you’ve heard it before. Yesteryear actors Raj Kapoor and Nargis star in this beautiful rain song that instantly lifts your mood. Timeless!
 
2. Bheegi Bheegi Raato Mein – Ajnabee
Legends Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar croon to this sizzling romantic song that features Rajesh Khanna and Zeenat Amaan. Composed by RD Burman, this track was a smashing hit in the ’70s. Gold!
 
3. Aaj Rapat Jaaye – Namak Halal
What’s better than just another rain song? A song that has rain and dance. Yay! Superstar Amitabh Bachchan and actress Smita Patil bring out their inner dancers in this evergreen song from Namak Halal. Composed by Bappi Lahiri, this song became popular in the ’80s. So if you ever feel like dancing in the rains, you know which song to play!
 
4. Kaate Nahi Kat Te – Mr. India
The sizzling pair of Anil Kapoor and Sridevi starred in this classic song that soon became a hit after the movie released. Composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal with lyrics by Javed Akhtar, this song remains one of the hottest rain songs in Bollywood.
 
5. Lagi Aaj Saawan – Chandni
 
 
Sung by the melodious Suresh Wadkar, this beautiful track was picturized on none other than the charming actress, Sridevi. The diva looked sensuous in her yellow saree, as Vinod Khanna stood in the balcony singing his heart out. The film was a huge hit in the late eighties, and this was one of the best songs in the album. 
 
6. Tip Tip Barsa Paani – Mohra
Welcome to the ’90s, where music charts were ruled by the likes of Alka Yagnik, Udit Narayan, etc. One such famous song was from the Raveena Tandon-Akshay Kumar starrer, Mohra. What is it with yellow sarees and rain? Somehow, Raveena looked stunning as she tried to woo her lover boy, Akshay. 
 
7. Chak Dhoom Dhoom – Dil To Pagal Hai
Ghode jaisi chaal, haathi jaisi dum. 
O saawan raja, kaha se aaye tum?
 
It’s impossible not to shake a leg when this peppy song from Dil To Pagal Hai is played out loud. Kids who grew up in the ’90s have probably danced to this fun number a lot of times. We can’t get enough of Madhuri Dixit dancing, can we?
 
8. Saawan Barse – Dahek
The film may not have been a hit, but it featured one beautiful song that showed the city of Mumbai drenched in rains. Listen to it once, and we bet you’ll put in on loop!
 
9. Jo Haal Dil Ka – Sarfarosh
Another rain song that featured the vivacious Sonali Bendre, this time opposite Mr. Perfectionist, Aamir Khan. Their color coordinated outfits made this track visually appealing, apart from the outstanding playback from Alka Yagnik and Kumar Sanu. 
 
10. Dekho Na – Fanaa
You don’t need to see rain, you need to feel it. Aamir Khan and Kajol pulled off this melodious song perfectly in Fanaa. Prasoon Joshi penned the lyrics, while Sonu Nigam and Sunidhi Chauhan lent their beautiful voices to this track. Definitely one of the best rain renditions in recent times.
