As we get ready to say goodbye to rains and brace ourselves for the heat before the winter, the other side of the planet is bidding farewell to summer and welcoming the fall. Along with the climatic change, there are other changes that are underway and some of which we have been waiting since March.
Yes, autumn is here and with it TV's fall schedule is too. Along with our old favorites that have been renewed for another season, there are many shows that are making their debuts and we are waiting for them eagerly. Here are our picks of must-watch new TV shows you should definitely catch up this season.
Man With a Plan
We might not have the F.R.I.E.N.D.S. reboot we were hoping for. But, we still get to see the actors in other productions. Matt LeBlanc is back in a new avatar as he plays a stay-at-home dad. Matt was last seen in Episodes and it thoroughly entertained us in its short run. The series is set to make its debut on 24th October, 2016.
There aren’t many sports-based TV series and there is no real reason why so. In this niche space, this series is going to stand out because not only it’s based on Major League Baseball but because it’s based on the first female Major League Baseball player. Whether you are a fan or not of the sport, this is sure to be an interesting watch. Don’t forget to catch it on 22nd September, 2016.
Based on the early days of the talk-show host Dr. Phil, this is a fictional TV series, which shows a psychologist using his craft to help lawyers to sway the judgement of the jurors. This comedy-drama stars Michael Weatherly of NCIS fame and is set to air its pilot on 22nd September, 2016.
Shonda Rhimes is all set to add another ride to her ShondaLand and this time she is going back in time. What happens after Romeo and Juliet die in each other’s arms? What is the story after the greatest love story ever told? You don’t have to wait long to know that tale and with Shonda writing it you know it’s going to be interesting. Don’t forget to tune in when Scandal and How to Get Away With Murder go on a hiatus.
Hayley Atwell has impressed us as Agent Carter and we have been waiting to see her in more shows for some time now. She is all set to appear as the First Daughter who is the head of an organisation that re-examines old cases and look for proof of wrongful conviction. With Atwell and this interesting a premise, it sure promises to be awesome. Remember to catch it on 3rd October, 2016.
The Great Indoors
When the curtains fell on Community, there was a hole in our hearts which hopefully this show will look to fill. Starring Joel McHale as a reporter who is forced to sit behind a desk with colleagues who are very different from him. The ensemble cast as a whole has a very Community-like feeling to it and we can’t wait to catch the pilot on 27th October.
This is Us
How often have you met people who are born on the same day as you? Not very often. The drama tells the story of people who are born on the same day and how their paths continue intertwining. Book your calendar to catch this series on 20th September, 2016.
All that lies between the past and the present is a ham radio. Changing the past can have disastrous consequences and damage control is always difficult. One such story about a father-daughter messing with time and dealing with the consequences is all set to hit your TV screens on 5th October, 2016. You can also watch the 2000-released movie of the same name, which is based on the same storyline.
This is going to be a treat for all the time-travel lovers out there as a professor, a soldier and a scientist chase a criminal through time. The pilot will be aired on 3rd October, 2016.
You know you missed Jack Bauer and you couldn’t wait to see him again. This real-time show has been exciting and gripping and its several reboots have all proved to be successful. We also have an Indian version starring Anil Kapoor. Unfortunately, Jack Bauer won’t be back but his team at CTA is still going strong to tackle another mission on 5th February, 2017.
