14 Most-Awaited Summer Blockbusters of 2018

Summer's here and you know what that means for movie buffs – summer blockbusters! This summer, we'll not see some of our favorite superheroes return to the big screen – both live action and animated – but also the return of dinosaurs, The Rock, the Mission Impossible gang, and more. Here is a list of the most-awaited summer blockbusters of 2018:

Rampage

Release Date: April 13

Dwayne Johnson plays a primatologist whose beloved gorilla, George, gets infected by a virus that makes him a giant. To make matters worse, it has also infected a wolf and a crocodile, and to fight them, The Rock has to team up with George.

Release Date: April 27

The biggest crossover film of all time, Avengers: Infinity War will have over 60 superheroes. This is the movie that the whole Marvel Cinematic Universe has been leading up to.

Deadpool 2

Release Date: May 18

Deadpool was a surprise hit in 2016 and its sequel is finally coming out this summer. With the same meta humor, plus more characters, plus bigger villains, it is a guaranteed blockbuster.

Solo: A Star Wars Story

Release Date: May 25

A stand-alone film that's a prequel to the original Star Wars from 1977, Solo is about the adventures of a young Han Solo and Chewbacca, including meeting Lando Calrissian

Ocean's 8

Release Date: June 22 

It has been eleven years since Ocean's Thirteen. So when there's Ocean's 8 with an all-female cast who are as ambitious as the male leads have been, everyone's looking forward to the movie that's sure to steal your breath away. 

Incredibles 2

Release Date: June 22

The Incredibles was one of the most accurate superhero movies, even though it was an animated one. Pixar fans have waited fourteen years for the sequel and it seems promising from the trailer. 

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

Release Date: June 07

Jurassic fans have another reason to celebrate this movie – it's not only bringing back Chris Pratt as the dashing dinosaur trainer but also Jeff Goldblum in the iconic role of Ian Malcolm from the original film. 

Sicario: Day of Soldado

Release Date: June 29

After Thanos in Avengers and Cable in Deadpool 2Josh Brolin will be seen in the Sicario sequel along with his co-star from the previous film, Benicio Del Toro.  

Ant-Man and the Wasp

Release Date: July 6

The second Marvel film releasing this summer is the Paul Ruddstarrer, which is set after the events of Captain America: Civil WarScott Lang tries to balance the responsibilities of being a father and Ant-Man, as he teams up with Wasp for a new mission. 

Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation

Release Date: July 13

Dracula is leaving Hotel Transylvania with his friends and family for a summer vacation on a cruise. There, he falls for the cruise director, who is hiding a mystery that could destroy all monster kind. 

Skyscraper

Release Date: July 13

A former FBI agent and amputee, Will Sawyer (Dwayne Johnson) lives in what is claimed to be the world's safest skyscraper with his family, which comes to be attacked by terrorists. 

The Equalizer 2

Release Date: July 20

Denzel Washington will be reprising his role of Robert McCall in this much-awaited vigilante action film, which will also star Pedro Pascal,  Ashton SandersMelissa Leo, and Bill Pullman. While the trailer for the sequel isn't out yet, you can see The Equalizer trailer here: 

Mission: Impossible – Fallout

Release Date: July 27

Tom Cruise is back with bigger and more dangerous stunts for the latest Mission Impossible film, which will also star Henry Cavill. It will also be the first MI movie to be released in 3D. 

Christopher Robin

Release Date: August 3

Ewan McGregor will be playing the grown-up Christopher Robin in this film. After becoming an adult, he has lost his imagination, but his friends from the Hundred Acre Woods (including a CGI-animated Pooh that we've seen in the trailer) have come to help him.
