We can’t wait to watch the film, and we know you can’t either! If you’re still not convinced, here are 4 statistically sound reasons why you can’t miss NH10:
1. Anushka’s films have fared best at the box office when she’s stuck to doing one film a year. Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (2008), Jab Tak Hai Jaan (2012), Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola (2013) and PK (2014) were the only releases the actress had in the respective year. They have also been some of the biggest hits of her career!
When Anushka has had multiple releases in a year, the first film to be released has been the most successful at the box office. This year, the actress has three films lined up – NH10, Bombay Velvet, Dil Dhadakne Do. Her first release of the year is NH10. We’ll let you connect the dots!
2. One of the audience’s favorite things about Anushka is her comic timing. This is no secret, since 8 out of her 9 films have had comedic elements. Her only film so far that hasn’t been classified as a Comedy is 2012’s Jab Tak Hai Jaan. Now, the Crime-Drama NH10 is all set to join its ranks.
This is definitely a good sign, since Jab Tak Hai Jaan was the most commercially successful film of Anushka’s career until 2014! The film, which grossed INR 211 crore at the box office, was a hit with audiences across the globe. Yes, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, which has a user rating of 9.7 on Metacritic, is also the 12th highest-grossing Bollywood film worldwide!
The film also won the actress various accolades at the Filmfare Awards, Colors Screen Awards, IIFA Awards and the Zee Cine Awards, to name a few. If NH10 does as well, it’s safe to say that this isn’t a film you can afford to miss!
3. Though her films have done much better in the last quarter of the year, the first quarter has proven lucrative as well.
Patiala House and Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola, Anushka’s only releases in the first quarter, have been box office successes at INR 88 crore and INR 42.5 crore respectively!
4. As if the lovely lady wasn’t already talented enough, she has also turned producer for NH10.
In the last few years, Bollywood films starring and produced by the same actor have come out on top of the box office. Madras Cafe (INR 42.6 crore), Talaash (INR 174 crore), Singham Returns (INR 156.77 crore) and Cocktail (INR 131 crore) are just a few of the instances of these hits!
