5 Anime shows to keep you up

Summer vacations are here! The most charming and eventful period of the year has begun. For some this means adventure, traveling, and thrills. For others, it means long stretches of inactivity. Between these folks are those who have embarked on a kind of quest; the quest of reinventing and rediscovering themselves. And then those who have already started studying for next year, to your frustration. Keeping this in mind, we have compiled a list of 5 anime shows that present stories of self-discovery, rebellion, angst and on why you should study. Here are some shows that will  make you wish that summer vacations either never came or never ended.

 1) The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya

Perhaps the most different slice-of-life anime shows that exists. This anime goes from mild to confusing to absolutely mental in 28 episodes.

2) Another

If anyone has ever told you that cartoons are for children, show them this and enjoy. A horror series that will make you dread the start of a new academic year.

3) Kids on the Slope

On a lighter note, let’s jam. Set in the psychedelic ‘60s, this anime shows the effect of jazz on a bunch of rural teenagers as they discover the value of love, friendship and music.

4) Terror in Tokyo

Tokyo has been hit by a terrorist attack and the only clue is a weird video on the internet. Terror in Tokyo keeps on jumping from a listless high school classroom to a chaotic police headquarters.

5) The Tatami Galaxy.

The Tatami Galaxy one-ups other anime shows in several respects. It’s packed with a bulletstorm of metaphors and interesting visuals. Tatami Galaxy tells the misadventures of a college student who keeps on wishing he could go back to ‘that day’.

Tanoshinde Kudasai (Enjoy)!
