5 Bollywood songs to celebrate World Water Day

March 22 is observed as Water Day all over the world. Back in 1992, the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development recommended this observance in order to highlight water related issues across the world. Since then, every year on this day, UN Water pledges to start a wave of change to save water. Even in India, the availability of clean water is an issue in many parts of the country. For the upcoming festival of Holi, the government had urged people not to waste water in the festivities. Holi can be celebrated with great pomp and enthusiasm without the wastage of a necessary resource. This World Water Day, do your bit for the planet and pledge to save water. Besides, you can have as much fun with water as you’d like, while enjoying these water-related Bollywood songs:   

Aaj Blue Hai Paani 

Yo Yo Honey Singh and Neha Kakkar‘s dance number from Yaariyan is for all ages. It teaches young kids what the color of water is supposed to be and gives the adults a funky beat to shake their bodies to.

Sung by the legendary Kishore Kumar in Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi, the song has a romantic retro vibe. It is the perfect pick for a karaoke party or to sing to your loved one.

Water-relates songs incite a plethora of moods – happiness, sadness, romance, mischief, melancholy. This track from the movie Ajnabee, sung by Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar, is another rain song enjoyed by two lovers.
