As much as we love Lana Del Rey‘s discography, the demo for Diet Mtn Dew has got to be one of her best tunes. Though we initially liked the studio version, I think we can all agree that it pales in comparison to the demo.
I’ll Try Anything Once – The Strokes
You Only Live Once is one of The Strokes‘ most commercially successful songs, but anyone who’s listened to I’ll Try Anything Once knows that the song isn’t half as good as it could have been. Luckily for us, the song was later featured as a B-side on the band’s single!
Lost In the Supermarket – The Clash
Everyone can agree that Lost In the Supermarket is a good song. However, it’s safe to say that the track is far from memorable. It’s only when we listened to the demo that we realized how great the song could have been!
Alien – Britney Spears
There isn’t much of a difference between the studio and the demo version of Alien. In fact, only a few seconds on the final cut are different from the demo. These seconds make all the difference, though. Why? The album version of the song has a glitch that causes the audio to skip!
Too Far Gone – Neil Young
Too Far Gone was initially featured on the unreleased demo album, Chrome Dreams. Originally a beautiful tune, the song evolved into something far more mechanical and polished than it was… And we definitely don’t mean that in a good way!
